About Tapestry Homeschool Forum

I

Our Mission  Empowering families to provide quality, Christian home-centered education all the way through high school.

Our Vision  is to link together the lives of home-schooling families through an academic co-operative that undergirds parents in their roles as educators, builds wholesome relationships, and prepares students to discover and live out God’s purpose for their lives.

In classical times, a forum was an outdoor meeting place, the hub of all activity in a Roman city. Several roads passed through the forum and the principle buildings of the city were built along it. It was here that the people of the city would meet, both commoner and men of high social standing. It was a market place, a court of law, the religious center, a place of entertainment and of education. It was here that people came for news.

In the Forum was The Rostra, where any male Roman citizen could speak to the crowd and express his views on any subject. Politicians gave speeches here. Teachers would bring their students to the forum and assign them to persuade the crowd that a specific idea was the correct and proper one.

We hope that Tapestry Homeschool Forum will become a hub for local homeschoolers, not just for social activities and religious training, but a safe place where students can hear ideas, learn to analyze those ideas from a Christian worldview, and to synthesize their own.
